Today, you can:
1. Connect your wearable and automatically sync sleep, activity, and recovery data
2. Text Illume photos of your meals to log and understand your nutrition
3. Record workouts and track your training
4. Upload bloodwork and lab results
5. Ask questions about your health using the context of your own data
6. Receive proactive insights about what changed, what it might mean, and what to do next
For example, you can ask:
1. “Why am I so exhausted today? Make me a dashboard of all the relevant metrics!”
2. “How has eating late affected my sleep?”
3. “Am I recovering well enough to train? Run a regression!”
4. “What should I focus on before my next blood test?”
the cross-source pattern detection is a real differentiator, most of these tools really do stay siloed. one thing I didn't see addressed yet though - once someone connects wearables, food logs, and lab results and then decides to stop using Illume, what's the actual path to get that data back out or have it deleted? for something aggregating bloodwork specifically I'd want to know that before I ever connect a lab result, not after.
the cross-source pattern piece is genuinely the differentiator, most wearable apps really do just sit in their own silo. question on the bloodwork upload specifically - once someone connects labs, are you treating that data as HIPAA-covered PHI with a BAA-type structure, or is it positioned as wellness data outside that scope? that distinction usually decides how comfortable people feel uploading actual lab PDFs vs just wearable summaries
Pari, the lab upload is the part I keep coming back to. Sleep and recovery questions have no wrong answer that hurts anyone. Bloodwork does, and people usually see a result before a doctor has explained it, so they arrive at your text thread already worried.
The design problem there is not the insight, it is the refusal. At 2am, with a value genuinely out of range, saying nothing is an answer and sounding calm is also an answer. Building clinical AI, what earned trust was the system being explicit about what it would not do, not how good the output was.
Is there a defined escalation path for out of range results, or does the model decide case by case?
@pari_latawa The proactive insights sound really interesting. How do you make sure the recommendations stay personalized and aren't just generic health advice as more user data comes in?
The cross-source pattern detection is what stands out to me. Most tools silo wearable data and lab results separately, but the "ApoB dropped, hs-CRP jumped, worth a look" example in your screenshots is exactly the connective insight people miss on their own. I build voice AI that checks in on aging parents daily, so I think a lot about turning passive health signals into something a person will actually act on. How do you decide when to proactively surface an insight vs. waiting to be asked? Getting that cadence right without nagging feels like the hard part.
