The whole thing started with a workflow that annoyed me at work: spot a bug on a page, take a screenshot, open it somewhere else, draw a red circle, send it.
That's three tools to say "this button is broken".
So Highlite does it in the opposite order. You annotate the live page first (highlights, sticky notes, arrows, freehand drawing) and capture after. It runs entirely in your browser, no account, nothing sent to any server. Partly a privacy choice, partly because I didn't want to maintain a backend.
It's free. Happy to answer anything, and honest feedback is welcome, even if it stings a bit.
One thing I'd love is a way to sync my highlights across browsers without needing an account, maybe just through a generated link or local export option. That would make it way easier to move notes between my work laptop and personal desktop.
The sticky notes stay anchored to the text when the page reloads, which is way more useful than I expected for sharing research notes with my team.

Love how lightweight this feels, no signup friction is honestly the best part. One thing though, it would be pretty useful if highlights synced across devices somehow, like maybe through a simple browser sign in option so I can grab notes from my laptop when I'm researching on my phone.

One thing I'd kill for though: a way to save annotated pages to a private folder or export them as PDFs, since right now everything basically lives inside my browser tabs and gets lost when I clear sessions.
