Turn podcasts, streams and talks into captioned vertical clips by chatting. Upload a long video, tell the Editor Assistant what you want, and it finds the best moments, reframes and captions them. Every edit is shown first and can be undone.
I'm Alessio, the solo founder of GPT-Video. I built it on my own, with Claude Code as my pair programmer.
Short-form is where people discover you now. But one hour of podcast, stream or talk hides 10–20 good clips, and finding, reframing and captioning them on a timeline eats whole evenings. Ideas weren't the bottleneck. The editing was.
So today I'm launching GPT-Video: vibe editing for video. You bring the long recording and say what you want. The Editor Assistant does the edit.
How it works:
1. Upload a long video: a podcast, a stream, a webinar, a demo.
2. Type the edit, e.g. "cut this into 10 vertical clips", "remove the silences and add captions", "keep my face in frame".
3. Say what's still off until it's right, then export.
The part I care about most is control. Many AI video tools are black boxes: you prompt, get a clip back, and your only option is to regenerate. GPT-Video shows its plan before it touches your video, and you can undo any step with one click.
What you can do with it:
Find the best moments. Auto Clip ranks the moments in a long video and explains each score (hook, payoff, clarity, emotion).
Captions and reframing. Word-by-word captions and a 9:16 reframe that keeps faces in frame.
More formats. Fake text, Reddit story and split-screen videos with AI voices in English and Italian.
Work from your agent. An MCP server (Creator and Studio plans) lets Claude or Cursor find and export clips for you.
Pay for minutes, not clips. 20 clips from one video cost the same as 3.
What it isn't: it doesn't generate video from nothing, and it doesn't post for you.
🎁 Launch offer: try it free with 50 credits for 14 days. If you stay, founding members get their first month of Creator for $19 instead of $49, plus bonus guides. That's for the first 100 members, until October 31. Plans: Starter $19, Creator $49, Studio $199 per month.
One question for you: what's the first edit you'd type? And when it gets something wrong, tell me where. I'm here all day and will answer every comment.

GPT-Video was hunted by Alex Battagliero. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
