A git GUI that lives in your terminal, next to your AI agent
GitGui puts a real git app in your terminal window, next to your coding agent. I got tired of jumping to another app every time I wanted to see the commit graph, stage a hunk, or write a commit message while Pi was still running. It feels like Sourcetree but lives in the same pane layout as your agent. Review diffs, commit and push, switch branches, and watch changes appear as you work. No separate window, no context switch. Built for people who live in cmux, Ghostty, or kitty all day.
I live in cmux (Ghostty-based terminal workspaces) and wanted a real git GUI in a pane next to my coding agent, not a separate Electron app or a text-mode TUI.
So i build GitGui. It renders pixels inside the terminal: commit graph, staging area, diff viewer, hunk staging, all in the same window as pi or any other CLI agent. One small Rust binary, no browser engine, works over SSH.
Not a TUI. GitGui paints an egui interface into an RGBA framebuffer with its own software rasterizer and ships every frame to the terminal with the kitty graphics protocol.
