GetSpaceHygiene ranks Gmail & Drive clutter by size — Folder, Domain, Sender — so you hit the biggest space hogs first. AI scans metadata only, never content. Tag items, review anytime, confirm by typing 'DELETE PERMANENTLY' — nothing auto-deletes. Secure Google OAuth, GDPR & CCPA compliant. Independent product, not affiliated with Google. Currently in beta — certification in progress, so you may see an 'unverified app' warning at sign-in. Safe to proceed.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built GetSpaceHygiene out of a very personal frustration — my own Gmail had ballooned to the point where I was at real risk of losing access to my account once storage filled up, and manually hunting through thousands of emails felt impossible. I ended up cleaning out 52,000+ emails from my own inbox before I even had a real product — that's what convinced me this needed to be automatic. The core insight: most cleanup tools either do too little (just search) or too much (auto-delete and hope you don't need something later). So I built GetSpaceHygiene to give you a real-time storage heatmap across your entire Google One storage — Gmail, Drive, and Photos — so you can instantly see what's eating your space. Cleanup (tagging and deletion) works for Gmail & Drive today; Photos is visible but read-only for now, since Google restricts API access there. We surface the biggest space hogs first (ranked by Folder, Domain, and Sender), let you tag what you don't need, and require an explicit "DELETE PERMANENTLY" confirmation before anything's actually removed. Your data stays yours to control, every step. We're in beta right now — Google's security certification is still in progress, so you may see an "unverified app" screen during sign-in. It's a process step, not a red flag; the product itself is fully functional. Would love your feedback, especially on what other cleanup patterns (across senders, file types, etc.) would be most useful to prioritize next. 🙏

Comment highlights

The "type DELETE PERMANENTLY" guard is a genuinely thoughtful safeguard — turning a one-click mistake into a deliberate action makes the whole tool feel trustworthy rather than another reckless cleanup script.

Love that it ranks by size and forces the manual DELETE PERMANENTLY confirmation — that gives real peace of mind. One thing I'd love is a scheduled scan option so it can track space growth over time and flag when a sender or domain suddenly starts dumping huge files into Drive.
