I built Formright because I wanted a workout assistant that actually helped me lift better without the overhead of expensive hardware or invasive cloud-based apps. I wanted something fast, completely local, and practical.
By leveraging Flutter and Google ML Kit, Formright processes your movement entirely on-device. It bridges the gap between raw motion data and actual, actionable coaching cues—giving you feedback on your depth, lockout, and cadence the moment it happens.
What went into the architecture:
- State Management: Powered by Riverpod to handle volatile camera streams and UI transitions smoothly.
- Decoupled Logic: The motion_engine translates pixels to coordinates, while a dedicated exercise_engine evaluates the movement rules. This makes adding new exercises incredibly modular.
- Local First: Using Shared Preferences for fast, low-overhead persistence of your data and settings.
