Solo developer here. FootballRanked started with a simple irritation: every football rating you've ever argued about — player ratings, "world's best XI" lists, transfer valuations — comes out of an editorial black box. Someone in a room decided. You can't check their work, and the number doesn't move when the player does.
So I built the opposite: a ratings platform where everything is computed, nothing is opined. Every night the engine replays 360,000+ matches (back to 2015, in strict chronological order) and re-derives the whole world from scratch:

💰 Market values calibrated against real transfer market data
🎲 Monte Carlo season forecasts — title, European qualification and relegation odds for every league, re-simulated nightly, plus knockout brackets for the big cups
Because the engine is deterministic, ratings come with receipts: same matches in, same numbers out. If you think a rating is wrong, you're really arguing with what the player did on the pitch — which is exactly the argument football deserves.
Almost everything is free to browse, no signup needed. A Pro tier unlocks the deeper tools (full history, advanced filters, and more). An iOS app is in the works for later this summer.
I'd love your feedback — and here's a game for the comments: name the player whose rating you disagree with most. Drop the name, I'll reply with what the engine actually sees. First one to find a genuinely broken rating gets bragging rights and a fix in the next nightly replay. 🔧
Would love to see a head-to-head predictor where I can pick two players from different clubs and get a simulated matchup rating based on their recent form. Would make settling debates with my mates way more fun than just showing them the raw numbers.
finally something that shows the math behind the ratings instead of just opinion. checked my club midweek and the relegation odds actually shifted after a midweek result, which felt oddly satisfying
Would love to see a head-to-head comparison tool where you can pick two players and see their rating breakdown side by side, including form trends and underlying stats over the last 10 matches. That would make it way easier to settle debates with friends.
The Monte Carlo forecasts are surprisingly detailed for a free tool, I kept refreshing to see my club's odds shift after a bad result. Nice that there's actual math behind the ratings instead of some writer's gut take.
