Hello. I'm Vivek, founder of Finitee.
After 30 years in US tech (AT&T, Honda, Amgen), I moved back to Mumbai and noticed something strange: a city of 20 million people where everyone is surrounded by strangers and nobody can find their people. Everyone's online, nobody actually meets anyone around them.
So we built Finitee. You add your traits - trekking, gaming, photography, whatever makes you you and Sonar shows you real people nearby who share them. You can join local events, or just post a spontaneous hangout like "anyone up for chai right now?" and see who shows up.
My favorite moment so far: a user told us he was killing time at a chai stall, opened the app, and found three other people at the same stall. They talked for two hours. No plans, no mutual friends. That's the whole point.
What makes us different: everything else infers who you are from your clicks. On Finitee, you declare it yourself. Declared, not inferred. And unlike every app fighting for your screen time, our job is to get you off the screen and into the real world.
We're live in Mumbai on Android and iOS, closing in on our first 1,000 users, grown almost entirely through college fests and community partnerships. Monetization launches this month.
