Hi Product Hunt! I built EchoScribe for people who need transcription but don’t want sensitive recordings and conversations sent to the cloud. EchoScribe processes transcription and AI tools locally on the device whenever supported. You can record meetings, import audio or video, add speaker labels, edit transcripts, and generate summaries and action items. The app is now free to download, with optional Pro access for advanced features. I’d love your feedback: • What do you usually record or transcribe? • Which workflow would you like to see improved? • What would make you trust a transcription app more? Thanks for checking out EchoScribe!

Local-only processing is a huge plus for the privacy angle, genuinely appreciate that. One thing that would make it stickier for me: a way to sync transcripts across my phone and laptop without forcing them through a cloud. Maybe an optional encrypted sync over local network or a self-hosted folder would keep the privacy promise while solving the multi-device reality.

local processing is a huge plus, especially for confidential work. one thing i'd love is the ability to sync transcripts across devices without uploading the audio itself, maybe just encrypted text files through something like icloud or webdav. would make it way easier to switch between my laptop and ipad without losing my edits.

Tried it on a messy two-hour interview file and the local Whisper transcription came out surprisingly clean with barely any cleanup needed. Honestly the offline aspect is what sold me, finally something that doesn't shove audio through a server first.
