DotReader.info
App that connects ideas across your books automatically
Most reading apps just store highlights. DotReader automatically connects them. Capture highlights from any book via photo, voice, or Kindle import. Our AI engine (Dots Engine) finds relationships between ideas, contradictions between authors, and themes across your library automatically. The knowledge graph builds itself as you read. No folders, no tags, no system to design. Just read and the connections show up. Opening iOS beta now for people who read to learn, not just for entertainment.
Hey Product Hunt!
I'm Francisco, building DotReader.
The problem I kept hitting: I'd read a bunch of books, mark passages that felt important, and three months later couldn't remember how they connected. Obsidian can do this but the learning curve is real for most people.
So I built DotReader to automate the connecting part. You add highlights (photo, voice, Kindle) and the AI finds when two books agree, contradict, or build on each other. Graph view builds itself.
Stack: React Native + Supabase + Claude API (Dots Engine) + OpenAI Whisper (voice) + GPT-4o Vision (OCR).
Opening iOS beta now. Happy to answer questions about how it works or the tech behind it.
