Dockling
Turn your pet photo into a pixel pet that lives in your dock
Upload a photo of your pet, partner, or anyone. Dockling turns it into a pixel pet that lives in your Mac dock, menu bar, or notch. It walks across your screen, naps when you're idle, and reacts when you click. Built-in Pomodoro with focus streaks, quick note taker, and a daily heatmap so it doubles as a tiny productivity sidekick. 25+ pre-made packs (cats, dogs, pandas, frogs, axolotls) or generate your own. $2.99 once. No subscription, no account, all local.
Hey Hunters 👋
I'm Sadi, the maker of Dockling.
This started as a dumb side project. My dock was a row of grey rectangles and I wanted my dog there instead. One weekend later I had a pixel version of him walking across the dock, and I couldn't stop showing people.
Dockling lets you upload a photo of any pet (or person) and turns it into a pixel pet that lives in your dock, menu bar, or notch. It walks, naps, reacts to clicks, and doubles as a Pomodoro timer with streaks and quick notes. So it's not just decoration, it actually earns the screen real estate.
A few things I'm proud of:
• 25+ packs you can also get (cats, dogs, pandas, frogs, axolotls…)
• Custom pet generation from a photo. Try it free on the site before buying
• $2.99 once. No subscription, no account, runs fully local
• Built solo with love
I'd love your feedback, especially on the custom pet generator. Drop a photo of your pet on dockling.space and tell me what the pixel version got right (or hilariously wrong).
What pet would you put in your dock?
Just added my intern as my desktop pet, he's super cute

Dockling was hunted by Sadi Saydam. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
