I built DeskCanvas with Codex and GPT-5.6 because I wanted a simple way to place favorite images and animated GIFs directly on the Windows desktop.
You can drag, resize, rotate, flip, reorder, and adjust the opacity of each item. Once locked, everything becomes click-through and stays behind normal applications. All files and layouts are stored locally—no account or cloud service required.
DeskCanvas is a small personal project, and v1.0.1 is available now. I’d love to hear what you would put on your desktop.
