I built this website after struggling to find podcasts I wanted to listen to. Instead of scrolling through spotify to find something relevant i thought to myself why cant i just describe what i want to listen to and then find it.
Do you listen to podcasts and have ever struggled to find a topic you wanted to listen to? If so try to find it with desect. (currently only top 150 ish podcast show. around 75000 episodes)
Hope to get some feedback on this. both improvements to the platform itself and features i maybe should add
the way it pulls specific segments instead of just throwing full episodes at you is honestly such a smart move. saves a ton of time when you just want the part about whatever topic you searched.
Would love a way to follow specific hosts or shows so I get notified whenever a new episode covers one of my saved topics, instead of only searching on demand.
Searched for a niche topic I follow and it pulled a 6-minute clip from a long episode that answered exactly what I wanted. Wish the free tier had more daily searches but the results were surprisingly relevant.

honestly this sounds super useful, i get tired of scrolling through hour long pods for one topic. one thing that would help me though is letting me save or bookmark the clips i find so i can come back to them later, maybe even build a little playlist of segments across different shows
It would be great if Desect let me save searches for topics I check regularly, like "AI safety" or "indie game design," and pinged me when new episodes match. Right now I have to re-run the same query every week and it feels redundant.
The search for specific podcast segments has always bugged me, so this hits a real pain point. Tried it for a niche topic and actually pulled up a 10 minute slice I never would have found scrolling through episodes myself.
