Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m incredibly excited to introduce DeepSwipe to you today.
We all know the feeling of losing track of time to mindless scrolling. I wanted to take that exact same low-friction, addictive behavior and channel it into something genuinely productive.
The idea is simple: DeepSwipe takes the vast knowledge of Wikipedia and transforms it into a swipeable feed of 30-60 second narrated, animated stories. Whether it’s weird history, deep space, or niche science, the algorithm learns what fascinates you and curates a personalized feed to keep you curious.
Building this as a side project over the last few months has been a massive learning experience. One of the biggest hurdles has been the visual engine—automating the retrieval of images that are highly relevant, engaging, and properly licensed is tough, especially for abstract or historical topics! If we get traction, my next big goal is to integrate deep archives from places like NASA and the Library of Congress.
I’m currently trying to figure out what resonates most with users and would absolutely love your honest feedback:
The Core Experience: Does the learning feel as effortless as scrolling TikTok? (The app is completely free on iOS & Android).
The Visuals: How do the images and animations feel for the topics you encounter?
The Web Tool: I also built a web-based Wikipedia Summarizer tool that feeds into our SEO. I'm still trying to gauge if there is a standalone demand for this, so I'd love to know if you find it useful!
I’ll be hanging out in the comments all day to answer questions, talk about the tech stack, and hear your thoughts. Thanks so much for checking it out! 🚀
