I kept opening Reddit to relax and closing it feeling worse. Every scroll was another disaster, conflict, or piece of outrage bait. So I built Dawnly. It pulls from Reddit's popular and news feeds, scores every post for positivity, then filters. What's left is the good stuff — science breakthroughs, heartwarming moments, people doing remarkable things. Two feeds. Save posts. Share with one tap. No account needed. Built this solo as my first iOS app. Would love your honest feedback.
Hey ProductHunt 👋
I'm Brendan, and I built Dawnly because doom scrolling
was genuinely affecting my mood. One scroll became
twenty minutes of feeling progressively worse.
The fix seemed obvious — filter the feed for positivity
before it reaches you. So I built a backend that pulls
from Reddit's public feeds, scores every post for
positivity by analysing the title, content, and
community reaction, then only passes through the posts
that clear the threshold.
This is my first iOS app — which I used as an opportunity
to explore development with Claude Code.
It's completely free, no account needed. Would love
to know what you think — brutally honest feedback
welcome. What would make it better?

Who hunted Dawnly?
Dawnly was hunted by Brendan K. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
