daïmōnes
Uncensored philosophical AI trained to reason, not to obey
daïmōnes is an uncensored AI reasoning engine grounded in the Corpus Aristotelicum. No corporate guardrails, no alignment theater, no refusals on legitimate philosophical questions. Ask Aristotle about ethics, politics, metaphysics, or the soul — and get an actual answer, not a performance of balance. Free tier: 3 messages/day, no credit card required. Disciple tier: unlimited dialogue - Free Trial Available. Built for philosophers, students, and anyone tired of AI that hedges.
Hello Product Hunt. I am Vasilis, and daimones is the product I have been building alone for the past year.
One sentence: daimones is a sovereign AI that answers like a philosopher, not a corporate lawyer.
Why I built it. I kept asking commercial assistants serious philosophical questions and kept getting hedged, safe, useless answers. Not because the models are weak, but because they are optimized to avoid offense instead of finding truth. So I built the opposite: an AI that reasons dialectically, cites primary sources, and does not perform agreement.
Aristotle is the first persona. He answers in polytonic Ancient Greek first, then gives you the translation. That is not decoration. It is proof that a system grounded in primary texts behaves differently from one that summarizes summaries.
The part I want judged hardest. We ran our public Golden Benchmark v2.1 with an identical Aristotle system prompt given to every model, same rubric, same scoring:
daimones: 84/100
ChatGPT (GPT-5.4): 79
Gemini 3.6-flash: 70.4
Grok 4.3: 64.7
The infrastructure is one VM at roughly $600 per month. No GPU cluster, no venture round. The methodology, questions and raw responses are all published so you can reproduce it or attack it. We did not test Claude because we have no API access, and I would rather say that than hide it.
It is single-turn and rate-limited, because it is one box doing honest work. The full product at https://daimones.ai has saved conversations, a free tier, and paid plans.
What I am asking you today is not a vote. It is a hard question. Ask Aristotle something you genuinely care about, something a corporate assistant would soften, and tell me here whether the answer deserved the question. That is the real test of this product and I would rather hear it today than never.
I will be here all day answering everything: the benchmark design, the RAG stack, the economics of running this on one VM, and why I chose Aristotle instead of something more marketable.
