Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Rodrigo, a Brazilian solo developer based in Ireland for the past 10 years. Color Flags exists because of my son.
He's obsessed with flags, countries, capitals, all of it. But he's colorblind, and every flag coloring app we tried failed him the same way: just color swatches, no names, no audio. He'd call me over every two minutes asking "Dad, what color is this?"
So I built the app I couldn't find:
- TTS speaks every color name out loud
- Written labels on every color
- Unique visual pattern per paintable area, you never depend on color alone
- Screen titles are narrated too (works for kids who can't read yet)
- After each flag, a fun fact about the country, also read aloud. The whole experience is audio-accessible end to end.
It's free on both platforms with no paywall at all, there are ads, plus a one-time option to remove them. Every single feature, accessibility included, is free for everyone. That was non-negotiable.

Love that you built this for your own kid, that kind of motivation shows in the details. One idea: add a short quiz mode where you match the flag to its country after coloring it, would help reinforce learning for kids and give some replay value.

Honestly this sounds really thoughtful, especially the text to speech and pattern overlays. One thing that would be cool is a quick quiz mode where it shows a flag's pattern and you have to guess the country. Would be a fun way to actually learn flags instead of just coloring them, and it could use the same accessibility features you're already building in.
