Most note apps ask for an account and keep a copy of your notes on their servers. Coffre doesn't. Notes, tasks and scanned documents stay on your phone, encrypted with AES-256 — the key lives in your phone's security chip and never leaves it. No account. No analytics, no ads. Android's own backup is disabled, so your notes don't even land in your Drive. Scan a document and the text is read on the device, searchable seconds later. Or dictate instead of typing.
A note on what you can actually verify, because this category is full of claims you can't.
Coffre holds one network permission, for the Play Store purchase check. So the honest claim isn't "no internet" — it's that no data from your notes ever moves.
Three things you can check yourself, on your own phone:
1. Turn on aeroplane mode. Create notes, dictate one, scan a document, search, export. All of it works.
2. Open Android Settings, Apps, Coffre, Mobile data and Wi-Fi. The only thing it talks to is Play Billing.
3. There's no account, so there's nothing to sign up for and nothing to delete. Your data lives in the app's private storage, encrypted, key in the hardware chip.
Where I'd push back on myself: the security chip protects the key from being extracted, but if someone knows your passcode and has your unlocked phone, they're in. That's why the Pro tier exists — a second passcode opens a different vault entirely.
Ask me anything. I'll answer the uncomfortable ones too.
