Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I built Codex Usage because I kept either checking /status or going into the ChatGPT/Codex Desktop UI while I was working and wanted my limits easy to spot.

What started as a simple menu bar tracker grew as Codex added more limits and reset mechanics. Codex Usage now shows every limit your account reports, when each one resets, your usage pace, banked resets, and a Pressure Check that tells you when a window is running ahead of an even usage pace.

You can use it from the macOS menu bar, a local browser dashboard, or the CLI. Everything runs locally using your existing Codex CLI session. There’s no account signup and no third-party backend.

It’s free and currently an unsigned Apple Silicon beta. You’ll need the OpenAI Codex CLI installed.

I know there are a lot of Codex usage trackers now, so I’m curious about what’s still missing. If you use Codex regularly, what would you want a tool like this to show or do that the existing options don’t?
