Large GitHub repositories can be hard to understand. CodeMap Al helps you understand any codebase faster with an interactive map, so you spend less time searching through files. It points you to the right files for GitHub issues, shows you where to start, reveals how files and functions are connected, and helps you understand what your changes might affect before you start coding.
I built CodeMap AI because when I first started contributing to open source as a beginner, I struggled with large projects like Blender and Rocket.Chat. It took days just to understand the codebase, and even then I wasn't sure which file to start with. I was also never sure what would break if I changed an existing function.
That's why I built CodeMap AI.
The Issue Mapper gives me a starting point by suggesting the files most likely related to a GitHub issue, so I can spend less time searching and more time coding.
The Function Dependency Graph shows what a function calls, what calls it, and what might be affected before making changes.
It's still a work in progress, especially for very large repositories, and I'm improving it with every update.
