ClariRec is a menu bar app that extracts text from screenshots, clipboard images, or files on your Mac.
The default OCR engine is Apple's on-device Vision framework — your screenshots never leave your computer. There is no ClariRec cloud service, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter. Results exist only in memory.
Translation works offline too — download a ~1.1GB local model and the entire screenshot → text → translation pipeline runs without any network request.
**When local isn't enough:**
Bring your own API key to connect cloud providers (DeepL, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral, GLM, and more). Your data goes directly from your Mac to the provider you configured — ClariRec never sits in the middle.
