Hi Product Hunt! I built CineTrotter because I kept wondering “where was that scene actually shot?” when traveling.
The part I’m proudest of: if your movie isn’t on the map yet, just request it in the app. CineTrotter goes looking for its filming locations, and once they’re found they land on the map for everyone, and you get a notification. That’s how the map grew to 10,000+ verified locations from 750+ movies, from the Kasbah of Sousse in Life of Brian to the Paris streets of La Boum.
The website is free and works in 14 languages; the iOS and Android apps add the story behind each scene once you’re on site. Try it: which movie should we map next?
