CapRocket
Free, open-source video editor with offline AI captions
CapRocket is a free, open-source video editor for Windows. Multitrack timeline, offline auto captions with Whisper (Arabic and Darija included), GPU effects and transitions, chroma key, text to speech and 4K export. No account, no subscription, no watermark.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm MedHachim, the maker of CapRocket.
I make short videos, and every "free" editor I tried locked the tools I needed behind a subscription or stamped a watermark on my export. Auto captions in Arabic and Eng
were even harder to find. So I built my own editor and made everything free.
What's inside
A multitrack timeline: magnetic main track, overlay, text, stickers, effects and audio tracks
Offline auto captions with Whisper, including Arabic and Darija, with caption templates and word-by-word highlights
GPU effects and transitions that look the same in the player and in the export
Chroma key, masks, blend modes, speed from 0.25× to 4×
Text to speech with free voices that run on your PC, or ElevenLabs with your own key
RocketPilot, an optional AI assistant: "remove the silences", "add captions in Arabic", "make it 9:16"
MP4 export up to 4K in any aspect ratio, or audio only
Good to know
It's Windows only for now. Android is planned, nothing to announce yet.
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you the first time. The source is on GitHub if you'd rather check it or build it yourself.
No account, no subscription, no watermark. Optional anonymous usage statistics are off unless you agree.
It's MIT licensed and I'd love your feedback: what's missing for your videos? I'll be here all day to answer. 🚀
