BiliTV
Open-source Bilibili client for LG TVs — danmaku, 4K, free
BiliTV brings Bilibili (China's biggest video community) to LG webOS TVs. Runs 100% on the TV — an on-device Node.js service proxies the API/CDN, no external server or PC. DASH up to 4K/8K with HDR & Dolby Vision, danmaku bullet-comment overlay, live streams, bangumi, in-video comments, EN/ES/中文 UI with machine-translated subtitles & danmaku, resume playback, DLNA cast. Install from webOS Homebrew Channel — search "BiliTV". MIT licensed.
Hi Product Hunt! I built BiliTV because my LG C4 had no usable way to watch Bilibili — the web player doesn't fit a remote, and casting is clunky. The fun engineering bits: everything runs on the TV itself (a tiny Node.js service on webOS proxies the API and CDN, handling CORS/referer/geo cookies), the focus navigation is written from scratch for the remote with zero-re-render DOM class toggles (the TV SoC is weak), and the danmaku overlay stays frame-accurate over DASH streams up to 4K HDR/Dolby Vision. webOS is a hostile platform for third-party media apps — no mic access, quirky MSE — so a lot of this was spelunking through Luna bus APIs. It's MIT-licensed, installable via the webOS Homebrew Channel (search "BiliTV"), and serves a growing community of daily users. AMA about webOS/TV app development!
