I listen to music while I work. All day, every day. And at some point it hit me that my Mac had absolutely no idea - the sound was in my headphones and the screen just sat there, completely dead.
So I built BeatAlive.
Press play in Spotify, Apple Music, or a YouTube tab, and your screen comes alive. No importing, no connecting, no setup - it just reacts to whatever is already playing.
The part I’m proudest of: it never gets in your way. The centre of your screen stays completely clear and your clicks pass straight through the effect. It runs alongside your work, not on top of it. That was the hard part, and the reason I rebuilt it more times than I’d like to admit.
