ArtStory
Look closer. Find the story hiding in every painting.
Hey Product Hunt, I built ArtStory because most art apps begin with a wall of facts, while the reason a painting stays with us is usually one strange detail.
ArtStory starts with looking. You can browse by artwork or artist, scan a painting in front of you, tap into its visual clues, ask follow-up questions, and save discoveries to a personal gallery. There is no account form: the first experience should feel like walking into a quiet room, not setting up software.
For OpenAI Day, I moved the live reading system to GPT‑5.6: Sol does the image-rich deep reveal and Terra keeps the conversation quick. The output keeps observations, catalog facts, context, inference, and uncertainty separate so the experience can be imaginative without pretending every interpretation is settled.
I’d love feedback on one thing in particular: after opening a painting, what made you want to keep looking, or what broke the spell?

Who hunted ArtStory?
ArtStory was hunted by Spencer Hoberman. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
