I built Animater because professional motion graphics is still stuck in the keyframe era. A 60-second launch video costs weeks in After Effects or thousands at an agency — so most products launch with a screen recording and a prayer.
Animater is a Mac app where an AI agent does motion design for you — and it works differently from AI video tools:

the fact it drives your existing Claude Code/Codex instead of shipping its own model is the smart call here, no extra AI bill like you said. curious how it handles a page with a lot of scroll-triggered animations already baked in - does it treat those as part of the "real" capture or does it just grab a static DOM snapshot and animate from there?
Pulled in my landing page and the agent actually kept our custom typeface intact instead of swapping in some generic sans serif. The camera pans felt intentional, not just sliding for the sake of it.

The local-first approach is what sold me, it ran smoothly on my Mac without dumping my real page data into some random cloud pipeline. Got a pretty slick launch video out in under ten minutes that actually kept our brand fonts intact.
This looks really solid. Most AI animation tools I've tried feel like a gimmick, but the motion here actually holds up, which is the part everyone else gets wrong.
One honest bit of feedback: the 7-day trial needing a card upfront made me hesitate before trying it. That card wall tends to kill the impulse to just test something, even when people want to. Might be worth letting people feel it first. Either way, nice work, upvoted.

Congrats on the launch. One thing I'd love to see is a timeline-based editor for fine-tuning the AI-generated cuts before export, since I'd want to nudge a specific camera move or trim a section without re-running the whole agent.
