I'm James — a designer, new dad, and the person who built Ahead out of genuine frustration with how I was starting my days.
Every morning I'd open my phone and immediately be behind. Notifications, emails, a mental list of things I hadn't thought through. I never felt prepared — just reactive.
I wanted something that would do the thinking for me before I started. Pull in my email, my calendar, my health data, reminders, what's coming this week — and just tell me what I need to know in plain language. Not a dashboard. Not another inbox. A summary.
So I built Ahead with Claude AI as the engine. It reads your Gmail and Google Calendar, pulls from Apple Health, and generates a fresh summary three times a day — morning, midday, and evening — each with a different lens. Morning is "here's your full day." Midday is "here's what's left." Evening is "here's what's ahead tomorrow."
A few things I'm especially proud of:
Horizon depth — you can zoom from today-only all the way out to a 30-day strategic view, and the entire summary changes
Anchors — personal modules (checklists, countdowns, trackers) that show up in your briefing every day
Health coaching — after 6 PM the health section flips from "how did you do" to "here's how to set up a great tomorrow"
Themes — including a liquid glass option on iOS 26
