Turn any flat image into a physically lit 3D embossed sculpture, entirely in your browser. Adjust depth, smoothing, and exposure to sculpt the relief in real time; orbit and zoom to inspect it from every angle, then export your creation as a single standalone HTML file no server, no install, no account. Everything runs client-side, so your images never leave your device.

3D Embossing turns any flat image into a physically lit 3D relief sculpture, right in your browser. No upload to a server, no install, no account.

The idea started from a dumb little experiment: What if brightness in an image could just... become depth? Turns out when you map that properly and light it right, flat photos start looking like actual carved objects. I got obsessed with getting that moment where a picture suddenly feels physical to happen instantly, in the browser, with zero setup.

A quick tour of how it works:

🖼️ Pick a pattern or drop your own image: Four built-in relief-friendly textures to start playing immediately
⛰️ Depth: How distinct the relief is
🌊 Smoothing: Softens noisy detail into cleaner, more sculptural contours
☀️ Exposure: Controls how the light catches the surface as it turns
🔄 Auto-rotate: Because watching it sit there catching light never gets old
📦 Export HTML Bundle: One click bundles your image, your settings, and the interactive viewer into a single HTML file. Send it to anyone; they get the real, rotatable 3D piece in their browser. No app or account needed.

Everything runs client-side. Nothing you upload ever touches a server.

Curious where this started? The original v1 prototype is still up on Hugging Face 👉 https://huggingface.co/spaces/Stelvin/3d-embossing-effects

Would genuinely love to hear what you'd sculpt with it, and any rough edges you hit!
