Hi Product Hunt! I've been wanting to build my own video editor for years, and this summer I finally went for it. Meet Zerium! I was inspired by AviUtl, a video editor that a lot of creators in Japan use. I wanted to make something that feels easy to pick up for beginners but is still powerful enough for advanced editing. Zerium is built with Rust, (W)GPUI, and wgpu. It uses GPU-accelerated rendering, runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and is completely free and open source. This is the first beta, so there's still a lot of room for improvement. I'd really love to hear what you think about the editing experience and performance, and what features you'd like to see next.
