Hi Product Hunt! I'm Yusaku. I run a small construction company in Japan and build apps on the side with AI. I made Yabai Word after noticing that people who love Japan, through anime, manga or travel, often get stuck on words that never show up in textbooks. "Yabai" itself is a good example: depending on the situation it can mean "terrible", "amazing" or "I'm in trouble". So Yabai Word focuses only on real, everyday slang: - 300 words, from 80s classics to what Gen Z says today - A plain-English meaning, when it was popular, and an example sentence for each word - Audio, so you can hear how it sounds - 150 illustrations that show the word in a real scene (more are added every month) - Quick 5-question quizzes to help it stick It started as an English app, and I recently added a Japanese mode too, with a "word age" quiz that guesses your generation from the slang you know.
