Wordbulb
Turn words into visual, playable experiences
WordBulb is a playground for words. It started with a simple word cloud generator, but I kept building little things around the same idea — what else can you do with a bunch of words? Today you can create word clouds, make interactive word search puzzles, hide secret messages inside puzzles, play mystery-style word games, and explore collections built around different topics. Some are useful, some educational, and some are just fun :) Most of the tools are free and work right in the browser.
I originally built WordBulb as a word cloud generator.
Then I started experimenting.
Could I turn a list of words into a game?
Could someone hide a message inside a word search and send it to a friend?
Could a word search actually tell a little mystery story?
Could the same idea work for teachers, classrooms, holidays, Bible study, trivia, or just something fun to send someone?
One experiment kept leading to another.
WordBulb has now grown into a collection of interactive things you can create and play with — word clouds, word searches, hidden-message puzzles, mystery puzzles and a growing library of themed games.
You don't really need to learn how to use anything. Pick something, enter some words and start playing with it.
I'm not trying to turn every little feature into a separate app. I like the idea of WordBulb being one slightly weird corner of the internet where you can do interesting things with words.
There is still a lot I want to build, but it felt like a good time to finally put it out there.
Would love to hear which part you find most interesting — and especially what you'd like me to add next.
