Hi Product Hunt. I'm Armen, a software developer in Colorado. I kept driving an hour to a waterfall and finding a wet rock. A waterfall is only as good as the stream feeding it, and most hiking sites list it as if it never changes. So I built one page per waterfall that pulls together data that was scattered across a lot of places: USGS and Water Survey of Canada stream gauges, NPS and USFS trail records, and USGS LiDAR. Each page has: - Current flow from the nearest stream gauge, and whether it's above or below normal for the month - A 7-day flow outlook with the best day to go - Trail length, difficulty, and directions to the trailhead - A LiDAR terrain portrait and a 3D view of the terrain around the falls (US only for now) - A nightly estimate of whether it's frozen, for winter ice hikes You can also sign up to get an email when the waterfalls near your city are running high. Two things I learned building it. Rainbow Falls is the most common waterfall name in the US, used 26 times. And about ten different "Buttermilk Falls" in New York all listed the same 5 ft height, copied from the one in Ithaca. The LiDAR data is how I caught it. It's free and needs no account. For developers there's an embeddable widget, a JSON API, and an MCP server so AI assistants can query it. What would help me most: tell me about a waterfall you know that's missing or wrong. I fix reader corrections by hand.
