I built Wandercrafted because planning an international trip is genuinely hard work. Weeks of open tabs, a spreadsheet that never quite gets finished, and the nagging feeling you've missed the good stuff.
The first version did the obvious thing: tell it where you're going, get an itinerary back. It worked — and it taught me what I'd got wrong. People don't want a trip handed to them. They want agency: to make the choices that matter to them, and let the software handle everything in between.
So this build starts there. You get a deck of things to pick from — places, food, walks, the odd detour — and you swipe through and choose what you actually want. The AI fills in the blanks around your choices instead of deciding for you.
The other realisation, and the bigger reason for the rebuild: early in planning, you usually don't know the cities yet. You know you want "a Europe trip", or "Japan". That's a real starting point, and nothing handled it. Now you can say roughly where and for how long, and get back an actual route — which cities, how many days in each, and how you move between them.
Then, once you start booking, it behaves like a tool rather than a demo:
• Real directions between everything, not just a list of names
• Booked flights and hotels lock to their actual times
• Everything else re-fits around them automatically as you lock more in
