Like a lot of people whose mornings don't look the same every week, my native iPhone Clock app was a mess of 30+ alarms (06:00, 06:15, 06:30, 07:15, 07:45) that I had to manually remember to toggle every Sunday night—and every night before an early office day. I tried building iOS Shortcuts to automate it, and I tried third-party alarm apps, but I kept running into two dealbreakers: Most third-party alarm apps use standard notifications or require you to leave the app open on your nightstand. If iOS kills the background process, you oversleep. Once you automate an alarm, you lose trust in it—you still end up checking at 11 PM because you aren't 100% sure why it picked that time. So I built WakePlan to solve both. How it actually works under the hood: Real iOS System Alarms: You don't manage a list of alarms anymore. WakePlan creates, updates, and cleans up real system alarms on your iPhone, so it rings through Silent Mode and Focus modes even if the app is completely closed. Contexts & Weekplans: Instead of setting raw times, you define a few life modes (like Home, Office, or Week A / Week B for alternating custody or shift schedules) and build reusable weekly patterns. Calendar Rules (Optional): Connect Apple Calendar or Google Calendar so an early meeting, a specific event location, or an all-day event automatically switches tomorrow's context. Always Explained: This was the biggest piece for my own peace of mind. The Home screen, Lock Screen widget, and Apple Watch complication don't just show 06:30—they show the exact reason it was chosen (e.g., matched a calendar rule or Weekplan), a 7-day lookahead, and a low-confidence flag if something on your schedule looks ambiguous. If plans change, it's one tap to override tomorrow with a quick note. Pricing / Privacy transparency: Calendar access is completely optional and read-only on device (with optional iCloud backup for your rules/contexts). The app is free to try, with a subscription to unlock the full rule and automation set. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wa... More info: https://wakeplan.franzonlabs.se/ Since it just went live and has zero downloads so far, I’d genuinely love feedback from people here who have complicated morning schedules—especially if there’s a calendar edge case or Shortcuts workflow you’ve been trying to solve that I haven't thought of yet.

Who hunted WakePlan?
WakePlan was hunted by Carl Franzon. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
