VueMotion is an AI Movement Intelligence platform that turns everyday smartphone video into validated biomechanical insights. With just a phone, tripod and cones, coaches and clinicians can assess movement quality, monitor performance, guide rehab, and reduce injury risk at scale.
Like many start-ups, VueMotion is the result of people with a shared vision coming together to solve a problem.
VueMotion CEO, Ryan Talbot is a qualified athletics coach. Back in 2019, while spending countless hours cutting out athlete shapes (known as kinograms) to analyze athlete movements, Ryan had the idea to automate this process. He began interviewing his network of coaches to understand if they faced similar challenges. These conversations confirmed a widespread need for more efficient and accurate human movement analysis.
With his extensive experience in imaging and video analytics, Ryan recognized the potential for innovation and contacted his former Canon colleague, Dr Amit Gupta, an expert in computer vision AI machine learning. Amit began the process of developing the VueMotion platform.
Ryan and Amit recruited another past colleague, David Klineberg, former GM at Canon Oceania, to join and lead business operations.
The team’s goal was clear: to create a groundbreaking solution to revolutionize human movement analysis and become the gold standard in field-based measurement and analysis.
They envisioned a tool that could serve athletes, coaches, and sports professionals with actionable insights to enhance performance, reduce injury, and improve long-term athlete health and efficiency.
From VueMotion’s inception, the company has been driven by a commitment to excellence in innovation. The founders’ deep understanding of imaging technology, combined with their firsthand experience of the challenges faced by sports professionals, enabled them to create a product that meets a critical need in the industry. VueMotion continues to evolve as we receive valuable feedback and insights from customers as they use the product in their day-to-day coaching and training.
Having advisors in research, performance, coaching and therapy means VueMotion continues to stand at the forefront of this exciting sports technology revolution, driving innovation in performance analytics and athlete engagement.
