I'm Omer, solo founder of Voynex. I'm thrilled to finally share what I built.
The idea came from watching how awkward existing translation apps feel in real conversations. You either type out what you want to say (slow, breaks eye contact), or speak into Google Translate, then turn the phone around so the other person can read the translation. Or worse, you hand them your phone. It breaks the flow every single time.
I wanted something that feels more natural:
- Hold the mic, speak, release. Translation plays out loud in 1-2 seconds, both sides hear it
- Conversation Mode flips the screen so the other person can read AND speak back from their side
- Choose your voice quality, from fast device voices to premium AI
- 18 translation languages, 9 UI languages so the app speaks your language too
