Verity

See the patterns in texts from your ex, nothing uploaded

Verity reads a whole text conversation with an ex or co-parent in your browser and shows the patterns in it (gaslighting, threats, blame-shifting, control) with the date of each message. Free text check, free preview, and a numbered PDF for your lawyer.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Jacob. I spent most of my working life in construction in Louisiana, taught myself to code, and built Verity because I couldn't find a way to actually see the patterns in how someone communicates, not just feel them.

What it does:

• Free text check (getverity.report/check): paste a few messages and see which ones match 18 warning patterns, with the matched words marked and a calm way to reply. There's also a "my draft" tab to check your own reply before you send it.

• Drop in a whole exported conversation (WhatsApp, iPhone, Android, Facebook/Instagram, Telegram, Gmail, GroupMe, Viber, TalkingParents records, screenshots…) and get a free preview: a 0–100 score, the patterns found, one flagged message in full, who starts conversations and who replies, and every message readable on screen, numbered in date order. On Android you can share a WhatsApp export straight to it.

• If you need it for a lawyer: a PDF with every message numbered and dated ($19), or a report that quotes each flagged message with its date and the messages around it ($99 / $149). One-time, no subscription.

The part I care most about: the conversation never leaves your device. Parsing and analysis run in the browser, including a small open-source language model (all-MiniLM-L6-v2) running in WebAssembly. You can check it yourself: load the page, turn on airplane mode, and it still works. The methodology page publishes the accuracy numbers, including where it falls short.

Verity isn't a law firm and the results aren't legal advice. I'd love feedback, especially from anyone who has been through a custody case.

Who hunted Verity?

Verity was hunted by Jacob Reed. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
