Vastiko
Browser-only file tools. Zero uploads. Zero backend.
Privacy-first toolkit running entirely in your browser. Passport photo maker with 18 country presets, pixel-perfect PDF editor, plus 26 conversion and organize tools. No backend, no database, no upload pipeline. Files physically can't leave your device
Hi PH 👋 I'm Oleksandr, an SEO Product Growth Manager at a Ukrainian digital agency, based in Prague. Vastiko is what came out of 1 month of evenings and weekends — and it ships with one constraint that none of the established players can match: zero backend touches your files.
Smallpdf, iLovePDF, Adobe Acrobat Online — all of them upload your files to their servers, store them for 1-2 hours, and ask you to trust their delete-policy. They have 30 to 30,000 employees. I built privacy as ARCHITECTURE instead: no application backend, no database, no upload pipeline. Open DevTools → Network tab → drop a file. Watch zero uploads happen. Try it on every tool — the result is the same on all 28.
What's inside:
→ Passport Photo maker with 17 size presets (UK/Schengen, US, India, China visa, Japan, Brazil, Mexico + universal mm sizes), iPhone .HEIC photos work directly (no need to convert first), AI background removal runs entirely in your browser, compliance checks, print sheets for Walgreens/CVS/Boots.
→ Pixel-perfect PDF editor — original fonts and kerning preserved, edits indistinguishable from surrounding text.
→ 26 more tools: PDF↔Word/Excel/PPT, compress, merge, split, AES-256 encrypt and unlock.
Honest disclosure: I haven't written a single line of code or designed a single pixel myself. The visual design — brand identity, color system, the "0 BYTES TRANSMITTED" badge, layouts across 800+ pages — was generated with Google Stitch. The implementation — every line of code, build pipeline, language system — was done with Claude Code. My job was direction: what should this be, why, and what shouldn't compromise. 1 month. Solo. 25 languages live.
Cost to me during the build: domain ($16), hosting (~$26/mo), Claude Max subscription. Google Stitch is free for everyone until autumn 2026, so that part of the design stack cost me $0. Recurring cost going forward: just the hosting. That's why it's free — not as a promotion, but because there's literally nothing to charge for.
Would love your feedback — especially on the two flagships:
→ Edit PDF: try it on a contract with a custom font and tell me if you can spot the edit.
→ Passport Photo: drop a selfie straight from your iPhone (yes, the .HEIC format works — most other tools force you to convert it first), pick your country preset, and check if the compliance checks catch issues your last passport photo had.
Bug reports, edge cases, and "why didn't you do X" — all welcome.

Who hunted Vastiko?
Vastiko was hunted by Oleksandr Utkin. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
