Tuno
The missing controls for your Mac, in the menu bar.
Volume for each app, HDMI volume, an equalizer, monitor brightness, a real window switcher, clipboard history. You can find each of these somewhere, but who wants to install, trust and set up a dozen separate utilities? Tuno brings them together in one small, native menu bar app with one settings window. It's free, it's open source, nothing you hear or copy ever leaves your Mac, and every build is signed and notarized by Apple.
Let's be honest: none of these features is new on its own. There are good apps for a volume mixer, for HDMI volume, for monitor brightness, for window switching, for clipboard history.
But every new Mac I set up ended the same way: six or seven utilities from six or seven developers, six or seven settings windows, six or seven icons in the menu bar, and a lot of trust handed out to apps I'd never heard of. Who actually wants that?
So I built Tuno: one app that does all of it.
• Sound: a volume for every app, its own output device, volume for HDMI and DisplayPort monitors, a system-wide equalizer
• Displays: brightness for external monitors, from the menu bar or the keyboard
• Windows: a switcher with live previews, Dock previews, snapping
• Mouse & trackpad: separate scroll directions, smooth scrolling, side buttons
• Clipboard history
One install, one settings window, one icon in the menu bar.
And because it touches your audio and your windows, trust matters:
• Free, with no account and no ads
• Open source on GitHub, so anyone can read what it does
• Private: audio is processed in real time and never recorded; nothing you hear or copy leaves your Mac
• Signed and notarized by Apple, and it updates itself
I'd love to hear what you'd still like to see in one place.
