Hello Product Hunt community! I’m the solo founder and builder behind True America. The Inspiration: The spark for this project came while following the excitement around the World Cup. Seeing international visitors explore small towns across America and experience genuine local hospitality made me realize how special America and authentic, regional travel really is. The Problem: Travelers venturing outside major cities often face friction—navigating confusing state-by-state recreation permits, finding verified local hosts, and discovering off-the-beaten-path spots that traditional review sites miss. The Evolution: Working as a do-it-yourselfer, I rolled up my sleeves and built the app using React Native and PostgreSQL. As the project grew, I focused on combining interactive 50-state footprint tracking, host matching, and direct civic permit tools into one simple platform. We intentionally left the admin dashboard modular so that incoming partners or team members can easily integrate their preferred backend management tools. I’d love for you to check it out!
