Hey Product Hunt 👋 Andy here, one of the makers of Training Buddy.
I built the first version of this for myself. I've been running since Covid and got into trail running around the South Downs. I was frustrated that every AI tool I tried forgot everything the moment I closed the tab. I'd explain my goals, upload runs, log my injury history, plan upcoming races and the next day, blank slate.
That's not coaching. That's a search engine with good grammar.
So I started building something that actually remembered me. The early version was scrappy, but the guys in the pub liked it and even then, the difference was obvious.
Conversations felt continuous. The advice got sharper. It started to feel like a real coaching relationship. The guys in the pub were actually using it.
What surprised us most: it's not the AI that makes it useful (although don't start me on AI and dates!), it's the memory. Runners don't need smarter answers - they need answers that know them and are expert on the topic.
We're still early. The beta is live, Strava is connected, and we're learning fast from our first users. One tester put it best: "somewhere to download all the boring running chat my partner doesn't want to hear - except it actually knows what it's talking about."
