I was tired of habit apps charging $10/month—it felt like a "subscription tax" just to improve my life. So, I went old school: paper and magnets. But soon, two things happened: 1) My fridge was buried under paper. I had too many goals and was getting lost in the clutter. 2) Every time I wanted to see my progress, I had to manually count streaks from day one. It was exhausting. I tried going back to apps, but I found two extremes: they were either way too expensive or "over-gamified" with features that felt like distractions rather than tools. How Trackova evolved: While building the initial version, I realized that tracking isn't the hard part - starting is.
