Tones
tap. talk. send. set the tone.
Tones is the calmest way to talk to the people you love. Open a chat → unheard voice notes play automatically. Tap once to record, tap again to send. That’s the whole app. No feeds. No likes. No read receipts. No public profiles. No algorithm deciding what you hear. Just voice — the part of conversation that text strips out: laughter, sarcasm, “I miss you.” Built solo. Free. iOS.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Jaskaran, a solo dev. Tones is the thing I kept wishing existed every time my group chats turned into 200 unread texts I’d never read. I built it because two things were true at the same time: • I type for work all day, and by 9 PM I had nothing left to text my friends back • When those same friends sent voice notes, I actually listened — and the conversations got better So Tones is basically that, with the friction removed: → Open a chat, and unheard voice notes start playing → Tap once to record your reply, tap again to send → No feed, no public profiles, no algorithm What it deliberately ISN’T: • Not a feed • Not “social” — no followers, no likes, no public anything • Not push-to-hold (just tap, like a real recorder) • Not “chat with optional voice” — there’s no text input at all Free, iOS only, no signup wall. Android if there’s love. Built on weekends and during class over ~3 weeks. — Jaskaran Singh
