The Syntopi.com

The World's First Knowledge Engine

The Syntopi.com is a decade-long project that indexes the great philosophical and literary works of the public domain by author, topic, and idea. Now everyone can explore the Galaxy of Ideas. Visualized so anyone can navigate the connections between 102 ideas and 64 thinkers — an experience that's never been possible at this scale before. Available on my website and on the App Store, it includes an AI Tutor so anyone can ask questions, receive guidance, compare authors, and even take quizzes.

My first great adult fling — literature, the great books — matured over time into a longing to share with others. In my twenties, I watched our republic crack and crumble, and did what I could through my career and essays to demonstrate the profound necessity of education to a healthy democracy. My efforts were futile and my writing unread. Ten years ago, I dreamed of creating a website that provided access to the great public domain works of the past. But what I had in mind was not possible with the technology of just a few years ago. That has finally changed.
