The Lost Pint
Comedy point-and-click adventure about a stolen beer recipe
A comedy point-and-click adventure about a stolen beer recipe, two old friends, and the small brewery where everybody drinks for free. The free demo is the first chapter: fifteen minutes in the brewery with Yiannos, Giorgos and a key that isn’t where it should be. Built solo in about 60 hours with Unity, PowerQuest, Claude Code and a custom AI Asset Studio. Windows, macOS and Linux.
Hey Product Hunt!
I am building my own classic point and click adventure game, The Lost Pint! Inspired by @levelsio nostalgia project(that retro windows pc, I thought why not make my own nostalgia project:
I played adventure games growing up in the nineties, often renting them on floppy disks, then sharing with friends in the neighbourhood(I know not legal, but growing up in the nineties in Cyprus, that was not an issue). We spent countless hours and sleepless nights playing games like Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Sam & Max, Leisure Suite Larry and others, then chatting about it the next day to see who progressed more. Just thinking about those times brings this nice and warm feeling.
So I thought I could try and create a classic adventure game, as it seems a one man Game Studio is now possible. It’s been super fun building this demo and getting everything together: The game in Unity with PowerQuest, hotspots, puzzles, dialogs, music, backgrounds & props, even my own Asset Studio to replace scenario’s paid plans(I’ll open source this, following in @marc_louvion footsteps with MailCheap). It took almost 60 hours of my time for just this one scene plus the intro, and this was while using Claude Code to the max(mcps, browser tool, unlimited tokens) & Claude Design(which yes, is amazing).
So now I need to figure out if It makes sense to spend the 500+ hours to build the whole game. It probably doesnt, when you consider the economics of it(indie games of this scale usually sell around $4 - $10 on steam, with profits being 40 - 50 % I think, and it would be a wonder to reach 5k units sold), but I still feel I wanna do this.
You can download the demo for mac, windows and linux at https://lostpint.com/ I would love to hear from you through The Lost Pint feedback form/survey if you try it out, but also if you oppose games using ai and you wouldn’t consider trying it.
