I hate using the MacOS default CMD Tab (Alt Tab). One extra tab press, and all of a sudden you're cycling through the whole thing rather than trying to press shift tab while holding command all just on the left hand. I would happily just use my mouse and switch the app, but now that I've been adopting a keyboard oriented flow, I felt like I should look into an app switcher, that would embed the switching into my workflow with a quick and easy setup. But I couldn't find any that had a simple minimalist UI, and was also a quite app, just sitting in the background. So I built sxitch. Press RCMD (Right Command) and a tiny window pops up. It shows you Davinci Resolve, Discord, Finder, Ghostty and Spotify. If I want to switch to ghostty, I can simply press G and it will switch to Ghostty directly. Now say I press D. which window would it go to? DVR, or Discord? Well it doesn't focus any app yet. Instead it filters out and shows you just the 2. Now, pressing "I" will focus DIscord (Since you've typed DI) or if you press "A" it will focus DaVinci Resolve. Its also super lightweight, and runs natively. No HTML CSS JS or web technologies involved. Let me know what you guys think! The app currently has a discount for purchasing the app in prerelease (Only $10 USD) and you get the full app.
