Stoiqus
Stoic app blocker for iPhone. Decide again before it opens.
Stoiqus stands in front of the apps that pull at you. Tap one and it stays closed: you meet a Stoic quote, name what you're avoiding, then walk away or open it for a short, timed window. No account. Everything stays on your phone. Also I would love to hear some feedback from you so if you contact me on daniel@stoiqus.app I will be more than happy to give you free first month to test the app!
Hi Product Hunt. I'm Daniel, and I built Stoiqus alone.
I noticed I was opening Instagram dozens of times a day without ever deciding to. It was reflex. And I decided to get rid of it!
Most blockers either lock you out completely or are easy to tap past. Stoiqus does neither. Tap a blocked app and it stays closed. In its place is a line from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, Zeno or Chrysippos, and two short questions: what are you avoiding, and what should you be doing instead?
Then you choose. Walk away, and the app stays locked. Or proceed mindfully, and a short timed window opens, then locks itself again. A few times a day, no more.
A few things I held to:
- No badges, confetti or streak fireworks. A streak is a record, not a celebration.
- No account. Your apps, reflections and notes never leave your phone.
- With Pro, the notes you wrote weeks ago come back in place of the quotes. What you told yourself then is what you meet now.
It's free to try with one app. I'd like to hear which app you'd block first, and what would make the pause harder to tap past.

Who hunted Stoiqus?
Stoiqus was hunted by Daniel Kopecký. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
