StackGauge
See which AI tool is about to stop you
StackGauge shows how much of your Claude Code and Codex limits are left, which one is closest to stopping you, and when each resets. Pin the tool you care about, or let it surface whichever is running low. Everything stays on your Mac.
I built the first version of StackGauge because Claude Code kept stopping mid-session and I could never remember whether it was the 5-hour window or the weekly cap, or when either came back.
Then I started using Codex alongside it, and the problem changed shape. It was no longer "how much is left", it was "which of these two is about to stop me, and should I switch". Checking two tools to answer that defeated the point.
So now it shows both at once. Claude Code and Codex side by side in the menu bar, each with its own limits and reset times. The menu bar item follows whichever is closest to stopping you, or you can pin one and it stays there.
It reads the usage data each tool already writes to your Mac. No server, no account, and it only ever decodes timestamps, model names and token counts, never the content of your prompts or files.
Also new: usage history broken down by model, providers refresh independently so one unavailable tool no longer delays the others, and Settings is redesigned with each tool on its own page.
It is free. Happy to answer anything, and I am genuinely interested in which other tools people want next.

Who hunted StackGauge?
StackGauge was hunted by Birang. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
