Staccary

It's just you and a cube.

We are first time game designers who launched our own card game STACCS on Kickstarter last year and have since sold out of our 1st Edition inventory. While we’ve been waiting for the 2nd edition to arrive, we designed a delightfully simple cube STACCING experience. We focused on one of our favorite aspects of STACCS, the unintentional and unique piece of art that you make every time you play. The Staccary app is all about glorifying the cube as a delightful tool for creation and relaxation.

It’s just you and a blue cube. And a second cube. And a third. And a fourth and a fifth. And ten more cubes at once. Above. Below. To the left. To the right. Smiling. Laughing. Winking. Vibing. Just you, adding cubes. But also you, deleting cubes. And blowing the whole STACC up. But that’s okay. You always get a fresh start. Just you and a blue cube. Building a STACC with each lil’ tap. Feeling good about what you made? You should. Give it a cute name and save that masterpiece so you can show it to your crush later. Feeling ambivalent? It happens. Blow your STACC to smithereens and start over. It’s free. No ads. No in app purchases. No rules. No instructions. Just cubes. And the art we know you’ll make from them. Why? We are first time game designers who launched our own card game called STACCS on Kickstarter last summer and have since sold out of our inventory of the first edition of our game. STACCS is a hexagonal deck of playing cards where the cards look like cubes. You play on a regular flat surface, but with each card you STACC, a three dimensional structure appears and grows. It’s a game, but it’s also art? While we’ve been waiting for the inventory of the second edition to arrive (no one tells you how nervewracking this is!), we designed and built a delightfully simple cube STACCING experience. We decided to focus on one of our favorite aspects of STACCS, the unintentional and unique piece of art that gets made every time you play. So, Staccary is all about glorifying the cube as a delightful tool for creation and relaxation. We hope you love this app as much as we’ve enjoyed making it. If you’re curious about our card game, sign up to get notified when we’ve got the new inventory in. And, if you’re in Columbus, Ohio at Origins Game Fair this June 18-21 come find us and get your hands on a DECC before it’s available online. If there are any bugs, please do us a kindness and report them. It’s important to us Staccary works as well as it possibly can. Thanks!

Who hunted Staccary?

Staccary was hunted by Dave Chau. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
